Chicago Homecoming | Illinois would be playing in Soldier Field, home of the Bears, for the first time since 1994. A logo was created to commerate the event. With such a symbolic connection between the Bears, the Illini, Chicago, and Soldier Field, it was the logos job to incorporate all these ideas. The 4 Chicago stars at the top are an instant recognizer to Chicago. The columns as well are a signifier to Soldier Field, but also hold a connection to Illinois' own Memorial Stadium. The words "Chicago Homecoming" arched over a football shape which feature the game's details, and our Block-I logo. The word "Chicago" also features a a stripe pattern inspiried by the Bears soldier stripe. The Bears jersey stripe features the intials GSH for George Halas, an Illinois Alumni and former player.
